Female Leaders in the Kratom Industry: On Page with Cactus Jack’s Botanicals
Today we are on page with Lisa Addison, owner of Cactus Jack Botanicals located in Cleburne, Texas. I had the opportunity to chat with Lisa and get her perspective of being one of the few female run businesses in the Kratom industry.
Over the past year what initially started out as a search to find a natural pain management solution to deal with her Fibromyalgia has turned into a mission to help others discover quality Kratom as a natural solution for pain management with an affordable price tag.
What made you choose to switch over from being a consumer to a vendor?
Cactus Jack’s: When I was solely a consumer there were a good amount of vendors that had inflated their prices for the same products that I was able to access at a more affordable price. Fibromyalgia effects over 10 million people in the U.S., 75-90 percent of those people who have Fibromyalgia are women and my mission was to help others like myself have access to the same quality and pricing that I was able to find.
I know that your products can be found in several retail stores, FB and MeWe online. In particular, can you tell me how you were received when you had to meet with some of these retailers which are predominately male run?
Cactus Jack’s: When I introduce myself as the owner of Cactus Jack’s I tend to get a mixed bag of ‘Ah, Ok’ and ‘Wow that’s great’ and then they see my products; the quality and pricing pretty much gets the guards to come down.
Being a mother, a wife and balancing a career how do you do it all?
Cactus Jack’s: Since I’m my own boss, I can juggle work and family as needed with the help of good Kratom and blessings from God.
What has been the biggest challenge in this industry being a woman?
Cactus Jack’s: Every day is a challenge because there are some vendors who are not team players. They try to discredit you, lie about you, poach your customers, and undermine you. But then there are the ones who are supportive and have your back and don’t try to turn the industry into a competition.
Being that you are not the typical soccer mom, what do you say to other mother’s when they ask what you do for a living?
Cactus Jack’s: I tell them exactly what I do, and offer them an explanation of my products and give them free samples to try.
What is your vision for Cactus Jack’s Botanicals?
Cactus Jack’s: I want Cactus Jack’s to be self-sustaining and to continue to hold on to our stellar reputation by providing good customer service to each and every customer and to consistently provide top quality products.
On a personal note, I am always thrilled to see women that have their own businesses particularly in industries that are predominately male owned. Why? one might ask. The more Kratom is used by mainstream everyday people the more Kratom becomes less taboo. When women who generally do the family shopping accepts various natural alternatives as well as the product being sold is by a woman owned-business there is an additional comfort to those that are purchasing Kratom. As I always say when it comes to having a positive experience quality definitely is a must.

Lisa Addison, Owner, Cactus Jack’s Botanicals
Lisa Addison has been a proactive advocate and Kratom consumer for a little over 6 years for chronic pain relief. After purchasing from several different vendors Lisa realized there is a difference of quality and importance of who you buy from. So after much research and finding an amazing supplier overseas she knew that she didn’t want anyone to have to go thru the trials and errors of what she went thru. Turning her pain into a passion to help others who are dealing with chronic pain such as Fibromyalgia, Arthritis and other debilitating diseases; Cactus Jack’s Botanicals was born. “I named my company after my son Jack because those little things like being able to throw the ball or even pick him up was a daily struggle and now thanks to Kratom I can be the active mother I want to be.”
