The A+s of Kratom Alkaloids
Mitragyna speciosa aka Kratom can attribute it’s primary effects to two of the 40 plus alkaloids to Mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine. Mitragynine is the primary alkaloid and responsible for about 66% of total alkaloid effects in Kratom’s leaf and 7-hydroxymitragnine is roughly 2% plus keep in mind not all is created equally. The remaining 32% is still being studied for a clearer understanding of it’s purpose and interactions.
So aside from all the science what does this mean to the consumer?…understanding Kratom’s alkaloid content and how it interacts with your body is understanding the right dosage that matches your needs. Same as Kratoms’ leaves, we are not all created equal and our lifestyles all vary as well.
I can’t stress enough how important it is to find that “sweet spot”; body type, medical conditions, additional drugs that you take and how you take Kratom is the difference in it’s effectiveness. At a low dose, Kratom has stimulant effects and at higher doses it can have sedative effects.
Kratom being an alkaloid with your opioid receptors but unlike opioids it does not bind to your opioid receptors in your central nervous system. Based on Kratom’s profile and it’s interactions with the central nervous it’s often used as a natural alternative for people with chronic pain or individuals that have had prior use with opioids.
